Port Mortuary Patricia Cornwell (Book Review)

Patricia Cornwell … I must say right off is one of my favorite authors; HOWEVER, this book disappointed … big time!  If you’ve never read her books DO NOT start with this current best seller … you will never pick up one of her books again.  Though I must say, if you are interested in crime scene themed television show/movies then her crime novels will certainly keep you enthralled.   I started with her book ‘Blow Fly’ but have read and own more than 10 of  her books … this latest one cannot even be put in the same category of reading as her past books … I’m disappointed with this one … no other word for it.
This is the ONLY book by Ms. Cornwell that I have literally had to make myself finish reading.  About half way through it I thought “hmmm it may be getting interesting” … but nooooo … I had to trudge my way through right to the end … though the last 2-3 chapters were engrossing … it ended just as disappointingly and suddenly as it started.  The story was all over the place …didn’t hold my attention and now that I’ve finally finished reading the 496 page book … I wonder ‘what the heck did the military have to do with anything’.  The dogtags on the front cover lead you to believe the entire story line is military based … not so.
Lucky for Ms. Cornwell this wasn’t my first ‘Scarpetta novel’
